
Basingstoke Amateur Operatic Society are thrilled to be celebrating 100 years of musical theatre since the inaugural production of HMS Pinafore staged in February 1922. Over the coming months this milestone will be recognised through various events. Below are our centenary dates for your diary:

Saturday, December 4th 2021
The first of our centenary celebrations was a Centenary Christmas Concert at the United Reformed Church, London Street where we will be joined by past and present members and an audience of Basingstoke supporters.

Wednesday, March 30th to Saturday, April 2nd 2022
Our main production was KINKY BOOTS here at the Haymarket. This musical is based on a true story and was a foray into the world of shoemaking in Northampton.

Saturday, March 5th 2022
The Anvil in Basingstoke hosted an evening of G&S as BAOS proudly presented THE PIRATE OF PENZANCE. This semi-staged concert was directed by Owen White.

Spring 2022
The Community Space in the Willis Museum was secured to present the History of our Society Exhibition going right back to 1922. The exhibition included a display of photographs, programmes and costumes, along with audio and video footage from previous productions.







Saturday, July 23rd 2022
Many of the musical genres performed by our society over the last century are to be included in our Centenary Concert at the Haymarket. The concert will include our junior group, Limelight which was formed in 2012.
