SAM ALEXANDER

Role on Committee and what does that entail?

I take of various jobs and help where I can. Should anyone need inspiration or advice, or a second opinion. I’m there to do my very best to uphold the welcoming atmosphere of BAOS.

What shows have you been in with BAOS?

THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, A CLASS APART and MADE IN DAGENHAM.

Favourite show with BAOS and why?

MADE IN DAGENHAM- Because it was a show that marked 3 years of being in BAOs for me, I’ve built up friendships doing the shows, and doing MID really brought me out of my shell, helped with my confidence a lot. I also met a lot of new people and I’m still very good friends with them now. It really brought everyone together, regardless of where you were on stage or off it. The music and humour still stick with me.

All-time favourite show? (and why)

A little unknown show called THE LIGHTNING THIEF. Based on the book Percy Jackson and the Olympians-The Lightning thief edition. It follows Percy as he discovers himself to be a half-blood, a Demigod, son of Poseidon. He tackles with being an outcast, thinking he so much different to everyone else. When I’m actuality, he really is different but I’m a great and mysterious way. I love it because of its visuals and music, the way they portray the powers of Percy and his journey to discovering himself.

Why BAOS?

I first saw a BAOS show back in 2014 in my second year of college. I initially didn’t even know about BAOS until I saw that show. I joined them for THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK in 2017 and I was hooked. Everything was easy and welcoming and I didn’t want to be anywhere else but doing shows with BAOS.

An interesting fact we might not know?

I write poetry, that seems to go better down on paper than if I try to speak it.
