Basingstoke Amateur Operatic Society are thrilled to be celebrating 100 years of musical theatre since the inaugural production of HMS Pinafore staged in February 1922. Over the coming months this milestone will be recognised through various events. Below are our centenary dates for your diary:
Thank you to all the patrons who have supported us loyally over the years. Without you, this milestone couldn’t have been reached. Please enjoy all we wish to share with you over the coming months.
The first of our centenary celebrations is a Centenary Christmas Concert at the United Reformed Church, London Street where we will be joined by past and present members and an audience of Basingstoke supporters.
Our main production will be KINKY BOOTS here at the Haymarket. This musical is based on a true story and will be a foray into the world of shoemaking in Northampton.
The Anvil in Basingstoke will host an evening of G&S as BAOS proudly presents THE PIRATE OF PENZANCE. This semi-staged concert is being co-directed by Adam Bayjou and Owen White.
The Community Space in the Willis Museum has been secured to present the History of our Society Exhibition going right back to 1922. The exhibition will include a display of photographs, programmes and costumes, along with audio and video footage from previous productions.
